The 1986 BMW M5 is my number one dream car period! This model is the first M5 built for sale in North America.  This specific car was raced and top speed recorded at 187 mph.  It is a super fast, great handling car that looks like your neighbor’s stock 4 door.  Love it!

It is listed on the BMW M Registry.  Click here to view images.

This is an exciting week for a life-long Bear fan! People across the nation are celebrating the Bears victory. Midwest residents understand the rivalry. It will be a great showcase for how all playoff footballs should be played: outside in the freezing cold elements! I predict at 34 – 24 Bear victory!

This morning I learned that December 15th is Cat Herding Day.  I love the EDS cat herding commercial.  It is a project management metaphor.

cat-herding (verb) : Persuading a group of independently minded people to go in the same direction; (alt): a difficult, frequently failing enterprise in leadership.

This morning’s interviews resulted in a “contract to hire” job offer.  Tomorrow morning I will discuss the “hire” compensation package and hopefully a start date.  I am very excited about this non-pharmaceutical IT leadership opportunity with a large, well-known, local, growing company.  It feels like a strong motivational fit.

Last Friday morning included a hopeful conference call with an old boss and a potential new boss.  This conference call could lead to an exciting IT leadership opportunity.  I am very excited!

Day before yesterday I received a phone call from a received a call from a local reporter.  He asked me a few questions about the career & networking center I helped launch last year.  Per my request Matt sent me a copy of the article published today (on-line and in the Pioneer Press paper)

After reading the article I smiled.  Matt did a great job recording my statements.  I believe the statements reflect well on what we were trying to accomplish.  Now I have to purchase two papers so I can send one copy to my mom.  : )

Yesterday I celebrated a small motorcycle maintenance victory.  I successfully replaced the oil in my R1100R gear box.  It is truly a small victory.  This simple task is rated 1 out of 5 wrenches.  Happy to report the the whining noise from the drive train has been reduced.

One of the things that put a big smile on my face on Saturday was listening to “X Christmas” songs on a 95 degree ride through the bluffs in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  I remember riding through this small town hearing the singer describe the snow covered trees and streets.  I could certainly imagine what this town looked liked on a snowy Christmas today.  Then the bikes stopped at a traffic signal and I could feel the hot sun again.  It was a great moment.
